★ Accessibility statement

Designed for every child.

Last updated 2026-05-14

Our commitment

Lumi aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We are not yet fully audited — that is on the roadmap for Phase 2. In the meantime, Lumi is designed voice-first and icon-driven so children who cannot read yet can navigate it unaided.

Current accessibility features

What works today.

  • Voice-first navigation — every instruction is spoken.
  • Large touch targets (≥ 75 px on every child-facing control).
  • High-contrast palette with audio confirmation paired with visual feedback.
  • OpenDyslexic font toggle in parent settings — coming in Phase 1.1.
  • Drag-and-tap input modes for varied motor abilities; every drag has a tap fallback.
  • No microphone required in Phase 1 — children with speech differences are not excluded.
Known gaps

What we are still working on.

  • Screen-reader support on /play is partial — Phase 2 work.
  • Color contrast on some mascot states is pending audit.
  • Keyboard-only navigation is not yet fully supported on the play surface.
