Built by a parent, for parents.
The story
Lumi started with one frustrated five-year-old. Remi — mid-kindergarten, a fast reader — was using Lexia at school and growing impatient with the pacing. The lessons moved too slowly when he was ready to fly and didn't slow down enough when a sound was tripping him up.
Tim — a 30-year programmer and the founder of Digital Boutique AI — built Lumi for Remi. A reading tutor that listened, remembered, and moved at the speed of the child. Then he opened it to every other family because every kid deserves the same.
What we believe
- Reading is a right, not a paywall.
- Children's data belongs to children and their parents.
- AI should be a tool, not a friend.
- Pedagogy must precede technology.

How we sustain Lumi
Lumi is free for families because reading is a right, not a paywall. We sustain Lumi through optional school site licenses (when available), Digital Boutique AI's support, and — when the time comes — applying for foundation grants. We will never put ads on Lumi. We will never sell your child's data. If we change our pricing model, you will know first.
